About Us

The Spanish Linguist was created by Arantza Elosua who had spent many years working as a translator, interpreter and teacher in a wide variety of fields. She now runs the business from her Edinburgh office and has many regular and new clients in her portfolio.

Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Arantza has lived in Scotland since 2004. After completing her BA(Hons) in English Philology at the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona, she came to Edinburgh to study a for Master's in Translation Studies at Edinburgh University, where she now occasionally teaches.

She is a Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (MITI), thereby abiding to the highest of standards in the industry in terms of confidentiality, quality and codes of professional conduct.

She has a full Enhanced Disclosure Scotland which allows her to work in places like the High Court, the Sheriff Court, prisons, police stations, hospitals, etc. under delicate circumstances.
